Phone cleaners have a bad reputation. Most of it is earned.

The category is full of apps that scare you into tapping and never say what happens next. So here is the whole arrangement, including the part most cleaner apps bury.

Nothing is deleted until you tick it: Every scan ends in a list with checkboxes. Files leave your storage when you select them and press delete, and not a moment before.
Your files stay on your phone: Scanning and deleting happen on the device. We do not share the contents of your files or other private content with advertisers.
No account, no sign-in: General use asks for no personal details at all. We do not sell, rent or trade personal information to anyone.
The app is free because of ads: Advertising SDKs pay for it, and they receive technical identifiers such as your device model and advertising ID. Every partner is named in the privacy policy.
Crashes and usage are measured: Firebase receives your device model, OS version, app version, crash reports and anonymous usage statistics, so bugs get found and fixed.
You can reset what advertisers see: Android lets you delete your advertising ID under Settings, Privacy, Ads. The app carries on working without it.

Can it delete a photo I wanted to keep?

Only if you tick it. Duplicate photos are grouped and the sharpest one in each group is left selected to keep, so the default action never removes your only copy.

Is clearing app cache actually safe?

Yes. Cache is the copy an app keeps so it does not have to fetch something twice. Android is built to have it disappear, and apps rebuild what they need. You stay signed in everywhere.

Why does it ask for access to all files?

To reach the folders other apps leave behind, Android offers no narrower permission than All files access. The app uses it to scan, analyse and clean storage, and for nothing else.

Why does the app show ads?

Because that is what pays for it. The advertising SDKs receive technical information such as your device model, app version and advertising ID. All of them are listed by name, with links to their own privacy policies, in ours.

Will it slow my phone down?

No. There is no background service and no scheduled wake-up. The app uses your battery only while it is open on screen.

How do I remove it and everything it stored?

Uninstall it, and anything the app kept on your phone goes with it. Information already held by our analytics and advertising partners is governed by their own policies, which are linked from ours, and you can reset your advertising ID in Android settings whenever you like.
